Stylish Hound is an online, boutique pet accessories brand currently experiencing exponential growth. After purchasing a newly built two-story Industrial unit in the Coolum Eco-estate, Stylish Hound's head office and warehouse will find a new home on the Sunshine Coast's popular beachside suburb in 2022. Humans welcome, but dogs rule!
The original space presented as a blank canvas with concrete walls and floors on both levels, minimal natural light and an exposed Colourbond roof. As a space for both storage and work, the owners expressed a need for flexibility, brand awareness and pops of fun while maintaining the industrial look.
To soften the enveloping structure, I focused heavily on materials that were in contrast to the existing concrete shell. Materials used included fluted timber panelling and joinery, a muted green colour palette, soft leathers and pops of terrazzo tile for interest.
